Home away from home: Hotel Capanelle in Rome

While in Rome from April 11 to April 14, 2012, the Mayfield Senior travelers will stay at the Hotel Capannelle which also was the home away from home for the San Marino Chamber Choir, the St. Bonaventure's College Choir and Band as well as for 200+ members of the Mater Dei High School Choirs and Handbells during their 2011 Italy Tours with Incantato. Mrs. Darnell herself stayed at the hotel that is located in a peaceful residential area of the Eternal City.
Hotel Capannelle Roma is a modern four star hotel and completely non-smoking. This impressive structure sits approximately 5.5 miles from the center of Rome and is a 25 minute drive away from Vatican City.

From the hotel, guests can view the ancient “Villa dei Quintili” and the Roman Aqueducts. The hotel offers a large American buffet breakfast each morning, and the on-site Marco Polo Restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, serving a range of regional and international dinners in an informal atmosphere.

Hotel Capannelle’s 252 guest rooms come equipped with air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, blackout curtains, desk, safe, satellite television, wireless internet connection, and an en suite bathroom with shower/tub combination and hairdryer. Recent reviews compliment the hotel’s cleanliness and comfort as well as their helpful staff.

Grazie mille - Thank you for a great first tour meeting

Dear parents, faculty and students,

Thank you very much for attending the first meeting for the Mayfield Senior Conservatory for the Arts 2012 Italy Performance Tour and Pilgrimage. It was a pleasure for the three of us from Incantato Tours getting to know you all (pardon the Southern drawl here as our HQ is in SC) a bit more and we look forward to customizing the itinerary even more over the course of the next few days with the Conservatory team. Please do make good use of this website now and in the future.

Arriverderci,

Sandra Weinacht and Team

Eating Cafeteria Food on Tour - not with Incantato: We are foodies and if you are not one yet, we are happy to convert you on tour.

What better way to experience a new culture than through its food. This is particularly true for Italy. This is a picture album of a special luncheon we organized for the members of the St. Bon's College Italy Tour this past spring. Don't watch these pictures if you are hungry or on a diet.

Unique Experiences with Incantato: A day in the Italian countryside for WRA

Incantato promotes stepping off the beaten path for a true immersion into the local culture. During their 2010 Italy Performance Tour, the students from Western Reserve Academy in Hudson, Ohio along with their families experienced first hand how cheese (pecorino) and olive oil is made in Umbria from the artisans that proudly carry-on the traditions of their forefathers.
